Duc Hieu Cao & Khanh Van Phan are directors of CAO STUDIO found in Saigon, Vietnam, in 2022.

Prior to the establishment of CAO STUDIO, we worked for several awards-winning International Design Firms such as Plus Architecture, WMK and Group GSA in which we developed the overall construction control ability and practical experience of the whole design process.

CAO STUDIO - As a customer-centric practice committed to search for efficient, effective and yet creative solutions to meet our clients’ need, we see possibilities of architecture & interior design to enhance human way of life.

Appreciating the concept of Biophilia, at CAO STUDIO, we believe design that connects our inherent need to affiliate with nature is essential. Through design, we seek alternatives to integrate nature - either through natural elements or techniques. And by connecting people with nature, we aim to improve the occupants’ well-being and quality of life.

CAO DUC HIEU   B.Arch (Hons) (Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture) (2007) M.Arch (Hons) (University of New South Wales) (2012) Associate at Plus Architecture (2019-2022) Project Architect at Plus Architecture (2015-2018)   Hieu Cao is an enthusiastic, detail-orientated and resourceful designer. He has experience across a broad spectrum of typologies and scales. He is particularly adept at resolving large scale master-planning and architecture projects with a clear-eyed vision that integrates innovation, design quality and commerciality. During his years at Plus Architecture (PA), he has been an integral part of a variety of success projects in a multitude of sectors. Leading the front end of PA Sydney office since 2016, he has specialised in developing and master-planning, multi-residential, student accommodation and mix-used developments.

PHAN KHANH VAN   M.Arch (Hons) (University of Sydney) (2012) M.Interior Design (Hons) (Raffles College of Design & Commerce) (2016) Project Lead at WMK (2019-2022) Project Architect at Group GSA (2015-2019)   Van Phan has a decade of practical experience, she has worked on a wide range of projects including education, residential and aged care facilities in Australia. Her ability to coordinate the design in various stages of the projects made her a key member of the Group GSA and WMK team. She has gained a wealth of experience by working with builders and contractors, that has given her great opportunity to enhance her knowledge of documentation during construction and supervision. Van has proved to be a dedicated and hard-working individual with excellent work performance and good team work.
